Drupal to the rescue
Monday I returned to work at Franklinville Central School and one of the new staff in the high school guidance office showed me the current course selection guide for the high school and explained her vision of having it "on the computer" so that it could easily be published and downloaded by students, parents and others. I told her I'd get back to her soon and today it came to me that this might be yet another great application for Drupal. I created a MySQL database on our webserver for the application and installed Drupal 6.13, added a few modules with more to follow and we've got the makings of a course student course guide using free and open source software. I added CCK, Filefiield and Imagefield, FCKEditor and gave this lady some very quick staff development and she's basically satisfied. I told her we can fine tune the application and we will.
