NECC 2009

I'm signed up, pumped up and ready to attend NECC 2009 in Washington, DC in about ten days. This will be my first NECC. This will be my second trip to DC in four months. I recently was asked to teach seventh and eighth grade students about internet safety and that curriculum will include the use of open source software, Google Docs, cell phones, iPods, Net Books, and assorted other technology toys and tools. I hope to learn a lot when I'm at NECC and I hope I'm going with a beginners mind. I've been a proponent of open source in education nearly eight years now and in the past three years I've been looking at how cell phones can enhance student learning and achievement. I have my own Blackberry Curve and prior to that I owned a Motorola Razr. I've become a user and fan of SMS, MMS and Twitter. I've been very quiet on this site, but that's going to change as I approach NECC and while I'm there.
